¹ Floating license:
This license type defines a maximum number of users who can simultaneously access a software application, such as Smap3D PDM. A central server records the current number of licenses granted. If all licenses are assigned at the same time, the new user must wait until another user has finished his session and a license is available. This differs from the named-user license in that the license is independent of the name of the user. Only the number of users determines the access to Smap3D PDM.

² Named-user license:
As with the floating license, the maximum number of users is defined with this type of license. However, the name of the individual user is registered. Thus the named-user licensing differs from the floating licensing in which only the number of simultaneously accessing users is determined, but no registered names.
