Smap3D Organizer

Smap3D Organizer is the tool for inputting document data. Usually this is the information necessary for managing drawings, e.g. drawing number, author, etc.

The input boxes are defined in Smap3D Organizer Administrator. Just as with a database, you define how the boxes should behave. Because Organizer writes all information to the property boxes of the documents, an appropriate structure is required. Smap3D Organizer allows you in addition to integrate your own applications. So boxes can be directly assigned your own programs. For instance a link to your ERP system can be made here.

The engineers then have a company-specific input mask to work with. They select entries from listboxes such as lists of materials, complete obligatory boxes or documents revisions. Boxes such as the date or the author are completed automatically. In addition all this information can be evaluated in the Solid Edge bills of materials. These boxes are also automatically completed in the title block of the 2D drawing.

A powerful PDM system is available when Organizer is used together with Smap3D PartFinder and Smap3D PartFinder Advanced. Smap3D Organizer writes all the information to the Smap3D database. All users can search the information using Smap3D PartFinder or manage the document status using Smap3D PartFinder Advanced.

Companies who do not wish to use a PDM system immediately after introducing Solid Edge should in any case use Smap3D Organizer. Because all the information required is already inputted, it is much easier to switch to using the Smap3D PDM solution at a later stage.
