Smap3D PartFinder
Smap3D PartFinder is the central search and information
center for all data. All information for your company can be found using Smap3D PartFinder and
depicted in a clear fashion. Smap3D PartFinder distinguishes between the following
document types:
Standard and recurring parts:
Standard and recurring parts are stored in categories which can be defined as
you wish. When the lowest level of category is selected a list of characteristics
is opened automatically and the part required is selected from that. Smap3D PartFinder offers multiple means of searching. For instance, you can search all
screws which are M10 x 50. The definition of preferred parts is also easily made.
Smap3D really comes into its own, however, when your own recurring parts are
imported. These are treated in the same way as Smap3D standard
parts. It is
irrelevant whether the engineer is using Smap3D standard parts or company standards
which have been added to the database. Smap3D PartFinder makes no difference.
User documents:
Solid Edge files, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Tiff ... - Smap3D PartFinder
finds each type of document. Smap3D Organizer and Smap3D PartFinder
Advanced are used to import them into the database. Smap3D PartFinder
offers a wide range of means of searching. Even when only part of the
information is known, the files can be found. A query could be something
like: "Find all parts which the engineer Jones has created since
July 10th, 2004 and in which the nomenclature 'axle' appears".
The search results are shown clearly in a list or with preview pictures.
Smap3D's full functionality is developed when Smap3D Organizer
and Smap3D PartFinder Advanced are used together:
- Status display: Smap3D PartFinder gives information about
the current state of a document at any time: whether in work, being
checked, released to manufacturing, archive, invalid, etc. All this
information is given both in textual form and displayed using icons.
- Project view: Smap3D PartFinder shows the structural tree
of assemblies and the drafts belonging to them. You can therefore
determine very quickly of all the drawings required for a project
have been created.
- Document dependency: Smap3D PartFinder can be used to determine
which assemblies contain a specific part.
