Smap3D SmartWork

Smap3D SmartWork is the base technology for the entire Smap3D LayoutPlanning-Software, making it possible to standardize an optimize your design process. SmartWork contains the rules that define which components can be used and how these components can be assembled.

SmartWork includes the base modules QuickSelect, QuickPlace, QuickEdit and QuickReplace. These are added to a Toolbar in Solid Edge and make it possible to create small to medium layouts quickly and effectively.

• QuickSelect manages the relationship-knowledge between components and features, preserving the know-how of the design department. The user is given options for the placement of components depending on the situation. Whether the users accept one of the given options is left up to them.

• QuickPlace automates the placing of standard components and features. A parts behavior during placement is saved in the part itself, saving time normally required for definition of complex relationships. Instead the user must only enter the logically necessary values.

The definitions for these programs can be editing using QuickSelect Administrator and QuickPlace Administrator respectively.
